Connect & Fund Core Wallet
Learn how to connect Core wallet to Avalanche, claim testnet AVAX and bridge it to the P-Chain.
In this section you will learn how to set up Core wallet and get some testnet AVAX on the P-Chain so you can launch your first L1.
Download Core Wallet
If you don't have Core Wallet installed already, click the Download Core Wallet button above.
Core is the only wallet that supports issuing P-Chain transactions, so it is not possible to use other wallets such as MetaMask or Rabby.
Connect Core
Once Core is set up, refresh this page and click the Connect Wallet button above.
Claim Testnet AVAX from the Faucet
Click on the Faucet button on the P-Chain card above to claim some AVAX on the P-Chain. You will
need to create a Builder Account if you haven't done so already.
Alternatively, you can also use the C-Chain faucet to claim AVAX on the C-Chain and then bridge it to the P-Chain. For this copy the coupon code:
Now head to the Avalanche Faucet by
clicking on the Faucet button on the C-Chain card above. Enter the coupon code in the according
field.
Next, we need to transfer the AVAX you've just claimed from the Faucet on the C-Chain to the
P-Chain. Click the Bridge button. Enter 0.9 AVAX and click the Export from C-Chain button.
Wait for the transaction to be confirmed and once the UTXO is showing in the Exported UTXOs list,
click the Import to P-Chain button.
Congratulations! You have successfully set up your Core wallet and bridged some AVAX to the P-Chain.
